Starting from the Dressers Arms in Wheelton, we follow a short stretch of roadside before joining field paths and quiet lanes heading south. The route passes the three reservoirs of Healey Lodges before continuing east to the picturesque cricket ground, ford and attractive cottages at White Coppice. We then head north on low moorland paths and through farmland towards Brinscall Hall before returning west across fields to Wheelton. The final section follows a moderately busy road back to the start, where care is required.

Distance: Approximately 5 miles

Total ascent: Approximately 500 ft

Terrain: Field paths, low moorland paths, farm tracks and quiet lanes. Some sections may be overgrown or muddy after wet weather.

Estimated time: Approximately 2½–3 hours

Features: A few stiles, a ford, livestock may be present in fields, panoramic coastal views and a short section of moderately busy road.
