We are a friendly and welcoming walking club based on the Fylde Coast in Lancashire.
Our trips run every week, alternating between our Saturday walks one week (a shorter day, based mainly around Lancashire) and our full-day Sunday walks the next week, which venture further afield.
Popular destinations for our Sunday outings include the Lake District, the Yorkshire Dales, Derbyshire’s Peak District, and occasionally North Wales or even as far as Hadrian’s Wall.
We provide various coach collection points between Blackpool, Cleveleys, Thornton-Cleveleys and Poulton-le-Fylde, with an additional pick-up in Lytham St Annes for Saturday walks.
All walks are led by experienced leaders and are graded A, B or C, allowing members to choose a walk that suits their preferred distance, pace and level of challenge.
A Grade – Our longest and most challenging walks, usually covering greater distances with higher ascents and a steady pace.
B Grade – Moderate walks with a mixture of countryside paths and some hills.
C Grade – Easier, lower-level walks at a more relaxed pace.
Walking offers a multitude of benefits for both physical and mental well-being. Physically, it enhances cardiovascular fitness, strengthens muscles, and improves flexibility, making it a fantastic form of exercise. Mentally, spending time in nature has been shown to reduce stress, boost mood, and increase overall happiness. The opportunity to disconnect from everyday life while exploring scenic trails allows for reflection and mindfulness.
Additionally, walking with a group such as Fylde Coast Ramblers can foster social connections, providing a perfect opportunity to enjoy the company of friends and fellow walkers.
